Building Churches

Brian Stone Ministries has been actively involved in building two churches in India, further carrying out the mandate God has given him to reach the lost for Christ.   In a remote village in India, a church seating about 500 people would cost around $2000.00 to build.  It takes around 2 months to build a church made of a concrete floor and walls and a thatched roof.

The second church is under way.  Pastor Ruban of Good Samaritan Fellowship stands near the site of the second church being built by Brian Stone Ministries.

In February, 2010 one of the churches was realized.  Dedication of a church located at Gamathi Muthu Puram, India was done in a ceremony led by a mission team from Brian Stone Ministries.  Follow the journey of the building of this church in the photos below.

Two workers in Gamathi Muthu Puram, India begin to prepare the ground of the site for The Brian Stone Ministries House of Praise. This will be the first church built by Brian Stone Ministries.

completed by February 15, 2010 and will be ready to be dedicated on February 25, 2010 by the mission team
from First Baptist Church of Canton partnering with Brian Stone Ministries.  In India, a church of this type can be
built for 600 rupees per square foot, equivalent to almost $11 US dollars.

The brick walls of the church begin to take shape.  In front is a pile of rock used to level out the inside floor.

Electrical wiring for lights and fans is installed around the insides of the walls.

The roof is under construction and the concrete covering on the outsides of the brick walls is almost complete.

The final touch....a cross is painted on the wall at the front of the church.

In a second location at the extreme southernmost tip of India, near the town of Kanyakumari in the district of Tamil Nadu, another church building has been started.  Though there is yet no roof or interior furnishings, the faith and vision of BSM partners and Good Samaritan Fellowship will one day see a beautiful new church standing as a testament to God's greatness and faithfulness.  Through donations and gifts given by Brian Stone Ministries and its partners, and through the faith of its prayer partners, these partial stone walls that now stand alone will one day house a gospel preaching church to minister to the Indian people of the area.
