Good Samaritan Orphanage

For the past three years, Brian Stone Ministries, along with First Baptist Church of Canton, Missouri has partnered with Good Samaritan Fellowship Orphanage in Nagercoil, India. This orphanage provides a home for approximately 40 boys who either have no family, or whose family cannot afford to keep them.  Besides food, shelter, health care, and clothing, under the direction of Pastor Ruban Thanasingh, the orphanage oversees the public education for the boys, including school supplies, meals, books, etc.  Most importantly, Pastor Ruban sees to the spiritual growth of the boys, including devotions, church services, and plenty of love.

In February, 2006 and again in February, 2008 Brian Stone Ministries took a team of seven to Nagercoil, India where Good Samaritan Fellowship operates its church and orphanage.  Through monies given in cooperation with First Baptist Church of Canton, Missouri, the boys were presented with necessities purchased in Nagercoil.  These items included suitcases so that the boys would not have to keep their possessions in a cardboard box, water bottles, sleeping mats, blankets, pillows, combs, toothbrushes, soap dishes, wash buckets, shoes, shirts/pants, and backpacks for school.

In the picture below, two brothers who had been sharing one battered suitcase for all their belongings were presented two new suitcases so that each would have something they could call their own.

Fruits and vegetables were purchased for the Good Samaritan Orphanage so that the boys would have healthy food to eat.

Until Brian Stone Ministries and Canton First Baptist Church purchased new suitcases for the orphans, they had kept all their belongings and clothing in cardboard boxes, where mosquitoes would often swarm.  Through the ministry, each boy received his own suitcase where he would have someplace safe to keep his things.
